PRP Therapy

What is Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy?

PRP therapy is a regenerative treatment that harnesses your own blood to promote healing and rejuvenation. Commonly used to treat damaged cartilage, tendons, ligaments, muscles, and bones, PRP therapy is also an effective option for stimulating hair growth and managing hair loss. By concentrating and re-injecting your body’s natural growth factors, PRP therapy can help address joint pain, sports injuries, and even hair thinning.

How does PRP Therapy work?

For both joint injuries and hair restoration, a small blood sample is drawn and processed in a machine called a centrifuge, to separate the platelets, which are rich in growth factors known to encourage healing and tissue repair. When injected into damaged tissue, PRP stimulates cellular repair, reduces inflammation, and enhances natural recovery. For hair restoration, PRP is injected directly into the scalp to activate dormant hair follicles, improve hair thickness, and reduce further loss.

Is PRP right for you?

If traditional treatments haven’t provided sufficient relief for joint or tendon injuries, or if you’re noticing hair thinning or early hair loss, PRP may be an ideal option. This versatile treatment is suitable for individuals of any age and can be tailored to address different injuries, joint pain, or hair loss concerns.

The Procedure

Blood Collection

A small blood sample is drawn and placed in a centrifuge to concentrate the healing platelets

Injection

For joint and soft-tissue treatments, your specialist will numb the area and use ultrasound guidance to inject the PRP into the targeted area. For hair loss, the PRP is carefully injected across the scalp to nourish hair follicles and stimulate growth

Total Time

The procedure generally takes about 30 minutes.

After Your PRP treatment

You’ll be able to go home shortly after the procedure. Some mild tenderness at the injection site is normal. Pain relief options are available if needed (though you may be advised to avoid anti-inflammatories), and ice packs can help with any swelling.

Your specialist will give you personalised aftercare guidance based on your specific treatment area.
