Mr Sanjoy Basu

Professional Profile

Mr Sanjoy Basu qualified from the University of Calcutta, India 1990. Following his basic surgical training, he obtained his Masters in General Surgery from the Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research, University of Calcutta, India 1994.

He came to the U.K in 1996 and completed his higher surgical training programme from the Wessex Deanery specialising in upper gastrointestinal, laparoscopic and bariatric(obesity) surgery. He has made several presentations in national and international meetings and has publications in peer reviewed journals across the world.

He was appointed for the post of Consultant Upper GI and General Surgeon at the East Kent University Hospitals Foundation Trust from April 2007. He has extensive experience in laparoscopic surgery and works as a faculty for both basic and advanced laparoscopic surgery courses.

Mr Sanjoy Basu is a Consultant General, Upper GI and Laparoscopic Surgeon at the East Kent University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust based at the William Harvey Hospital, Ashford.

He is also the Senior Lead for the Trust for the Surgical Division.
