Mr Raman Thakur

Professional Profile

Mr Thakur qualified from Osmania University in India and went on to obtain his Masters in Orthopaedics from the same university before moving to the UK in 1993.  He completed the Orthopaedic training in the Guy’s and St Thomas’ rotation working in various hospitals in Kent and central London. He passed the FRCS (Orth) in 1998.  He was privileged to spend a year on the Adult Reconstruction Fellowship programme at the world renowned Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, USA, learning specialist techniques in hip and knee replacement surgery.

He holds a substantive post as Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at East Kent Hospitals working at the William Harvey and Kent and Canterbury Hospitals.

Personal Profile

Mr Thakur is an avid cricket fan.  He also enjoys reading, travelling and spending time with family and friends.

Mr Thakur has over 20 presentations at national and international conferences and over 10 publications in orthopaedic journals. 

He has also authored several book chapters in hip and knee arthroplasty.
