MBBS, DM, FRCS
Consultant Upper G I/Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgeon, Senior Clinical Lecturer (Hon), Imperial College London
After completing the Basic Surgical Training in the East Midlands, I was involved in a two year research project at The University of Nottingham and was awarded a DM degree from the same university. My higher surgical training was at the East of England Deanery. I have been trained at five regional oesophageal and gastric cancer units, including Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge and two regional bariatric units in the UK. This training helped me obtain the certificate of completion of training (CCT) as well as the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS).
I have trained comprehensively in both benign and malignant upper GI surgery (both open and laparoscopic), hernia surgery (open/laparoscopic) and obesity surgery.
In 2016 I was appointed as a Consultant General, Upper GI and Bariatric Surgeon at Luton and Dunstable University Hospital (permanent post). I perform open and laparoscopic surgery for benign upper GI conditions (anti-reflux, hiatus hernia and paraoesophageal hernia), gallbladder surgery, hernia surgery and other gastrointestinal surgery.
I perform all oesophageal and gastric cancer operations at The Regional Centre at Hammersmith hospital, Imperial College, London and a full range of general and bariatric surgery at The Regional Bariatric Unit at Luton and Dunstable University hospital.
