Mr Chinedu Chianakwalam

Professional Profile

Mr Chinedu Chianakwalam is a Consultant General and Breast Surgeon at the One Ashford Hospital in Ashford.  Mr Chianakwalam graduated in 1980 and undertook specialist training leading to the Fellowship in 1990.  Following research in the application of Artificial Neural Networks in breast cancer prognosis he was awarded an MSc degree by the University of Kent in 2004.  He is a Consultant at the East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust.

Mr Chianakwalam has vast experience in the management of breast cancer and benign breast disease.  His academic interest has led to several publications and presentations.  He is interested in the genetic profiling of breast cancer including Oncotype, cloud based data systems in healthcare, short stay breast surgery and the development of breast services in primary care.
