Mr Mettias is a highly regarded ENT consultant surgeon, who specializes in thyroid and parathyroid surgery, and head and neck cancer, in addition to the management of sinus disease, ear diseases, voice and swallowing disorders. His additional surgical interests are endoscopic sinus surgery, septoplasty, and ear surgeries. He had 21 years of ENT experience through his Career in multiethnic communities in the UK and overseas.

After graduating in 2000 from Cairo University, Mr Mettias completed a full-time ENT residency program at Cairo University Hospital. He gained membership of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2007. He expanded his experience with a second high specialty training program between Glasgow and East Midland. He achieved his fellowship degree in 2020 at the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He further distinguished his experience in thyroid and head and neck cancer subspecialty by taking the National Training Interface Group of Surgical Oncology fellowship for head and neck cancer in Guy’s and St. Thomas NHS Foundation Trust.

He is a member of the British Association of Head and neck oncologists, as well as a member of the British Association of Thyroid and Endocrine Surgery and EN-UK Society.

In addition to his very busy clinical commitments, Mr. Mettias gained a Master’s in Meniere diseases and a Ph.D. in laryngotracheal stenosis. He is active in numerous regional and national research. widely published with 26 peer-reviewed publications. He continues to contribute to national and international conferences.

Throughout his career, he has been passionate about medical education nationally and internationally. He was an assistant Lecturer and then a Lecturer at Fayoum University for 4 years. He was the junior lead for the organization of the East Midland dissection courses for core trainees and high specialty registrars for 3 years. He has been a Tutor for several national academic ENT courses. He continues to contribute to the East of England deanery through his role as clinical and educational supervisor
