Dr Parul Shrestha

Professional Profile

Dr Shrestha completed her MBBS training from Dhaka University in Bangladesh and then went on to work in Nepal.

Dr Shrestha came to UK in 2005 and soon completed her MRCP UK . Dr Shrestha did a range of rotations as a Senior House Officer in different hospitals across the UK including Addenbrookes Hospital, working in the Liver and Transplant Unit at University Hospital, Wales, which gave her a broad range of knowledge and experience in general internal medicine. Dr Shrestha then did my rheumatology specialist registrar training in South Thames and worked in tertiary centres including St Georges Hospital, Kings College Hospital and Guys and St Thomas’ Hospitals, which gave her a breath of experience in managing complex and rare rheumatological conditions. Dr Shrestha is dually accredited in General Internal Medicine and Rheumatology and has been working as a Consultant Rheumatologist at East Kent Hospitals since December 2017.

Dr Shrestha teaches Medical Students and is a Clinical Supervisor for KMMS 4th Year Medical students. Dr Shrestha is also the Audit Lead for the Rheumatology Department at East Kent Hospitals. Dr Shrestha is passionate about service improvement and has initiated and led many service improvements and CIPs in Rheumatology Department.

Personal Profile

Dr Shrestha enjoys meditation, being in nature and taking part in charity work. Dr Shrestha is an International Advisor for the Autism Charity ‘Avaani Foundation’ in Nepal.
