Dr Mehedi Hasan

Dr Mehedi Hasan is a consultant haematologist at Lister Hospital, Stevenage where he also leads the anticoagulation and myeloid service.

Qualified from Dhaka University in 1992, he then went on to complete his general medical training and post-graduation in haematology from the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons in 2000. He practised as a consultant haematologist in Dhaka for a few years before relocating to the United Kingdom to sit the registration exam from the General Medical Council and then went on to obtain his MRCP and FRCPath qualifications. With 25 years of practice in haematology, he has a wide breadth of knowledge and experience in haematological disorders – with his interests being general haematology, anticoagulation, myeloid disorders and chronic lymphoproliferative disorders. His other pursuits include being an examiner for both the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons and the Royal College of Pathologists as well as being a member of the British Medical Association and the British Society of Haematology.
