Consultant and Honorary Senior Lecturer in Respiratory and General Paediatrics
Dr Nwokoro specialises in general and respiratory paediatrics. He is primarily interested in the health and wellbeing of children and their families and will not address a clinical problem without consideration of the wider medical, social and emotional context.

Training
“Dr Chin” (to his patients) is a consultant paediatrician GMC-certified in paediatrics and paediatric respiratory medicine. After medical school in Cambridge he trained at Great Ormond Street, St Mary’s, The Royal London and back to Cambridge before completing his doctoral thesis at Barts and the London School of Medicine.
NHS Role
A competent and sympathetic general paediatrician, he is head of children’s asthma and chronic lung disease at Barts Health NHS Trust and leads the North East London STP community asthma improvement programme.
Teaching
An honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at Queen Mary University of London, he teaches undergraduate medical students and supervises BSc programmes. He has taught in Sudan on behalf of the RCPCH and the Egyptian and Sudanese Medical Associations. He is joint course director of the ‘Lung in Childhood’ London Paediatric Respiratory Medicine training programme and also teaches on general paediatric courses at Ealing, Whitechapel, the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health.
Clinical Expertise
He is happy to assess and treat all manner of paediatric concerns, with additional authority in diseases of the respiratory tract, and is happy to provide medicolegal advice in this context if required.
Personal Profile
Dr Nwokoro was born in Leeds, moving to London aged 9. He studied at Haberdashers’ Aske’s school in Elstree before reading Medicine (also sprint hurdling and singing in a funk band) in Cambridge. He is settled in Hertfordshire with his wife and two young children and enjoys road cycling, skiing, writing and medicine. He is involved in campaign efforts to reduce air pollution around schools and elsewhere.
