Mr Mamidanna has expertise in a wide variety of procedures involving General Surgery, Upper Gastrointestinal Tract Surgery as well as Metabolic and Weight Loss Surgery. He underwent his basic and higher surgical training in the United Kingdom. Subsequently he undertook a specialist Royal College of Surgeons (London) Fellowship in Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery. Mr Mamidanna is an advanced laparoscopic surgeon and regularly undertakes many complex keyhole operations. His general surgical practice includes operations for appendicitis, gallstone disease and groin and abdominal wall hernias. He also offers keyhole surgery to manage hiatus hernia and acid reflux (fundoplication). His specialist interest includes surgery for obesity and metabolic syndrome (problems associated with being overweight – such as diabetes, sleep apnoea, hypertension, high cholesterol/triglycerides). Mr Mamidanna is a trainer for junior and senior surgical trainees in South-East England. He has published extensively and authored various book chapters. He has a keen interest in academics and obtained a PhD from Imperial College London. He prides in being able to provide a smooth journey and good experience for all patients, right from initial consultation to discharge.
