Mr Patrick Goon

Dr. Goon received his medical degree and Masters from the University of Wales, and went on to complete his residency training in plastic surgery in the East of England. During his training, he developed a passion for helping patients with hand injuries and other debilitating upper limb pathologies.

He is fully Fellowship trained, after working alongside expert Hand Surgeons such as Adrian Chojnowski in Norwich, followed by apprenticeships with Professor Henk Coert in Holland, and Professor Del Pinal in Spain. He is also European Board of Hand Surgery (EBHS) certified, and is an Approved Tutor for the British Surgical Society of the Hand (BSSH) diploma programme.

Currently, Dr. Goon works in the busy Hand and Wrist section of the East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, where he provides a range of surgical and non-surgical procedures, mainly dealing with the upper limb. Notably, he is the Director of the Lister -Utrecht Hand Fellowship Programme, training Hand Surgeons of the future  in a unique collaborative effort with the University Medical Centre of Utrecht, Holland.

He is known for his skilled meticulous approach to Hand surgery, often utilising advanced techniques, and his compassionate, personalized care to patients, and this approach has established him as a leading Plastics Hand and Wrist Surgeon in the region.

Having worked in the NHS only for over 20 years, he has made a recent decision to provide his patients with private care, as he is increasingly frustrated by the ever-mounting hurdles he faces when trying to provide the best care for his patients in the NHS
