Good news for One Ashford Hospital

One Ashford Hospital, Kent’s newest healthcare provider, is delighted to have been rated ‘good’, following its first inspection from the Care Quality Commission.

The inspection took place on the 27 and 28 June 2017, along with an unannounced visit to the hospital on 5 July 2017 and rated the hospital ‘good’ overall and good in all five main assessment criteria, which judged it to be safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.

The regulator’s report, published this week, highlighted particular examples of good practice, such as how staff helped create the hospital’s values and staff were engaged with the vision and values, and incorporated the values into their day-to-day work.

Thelma Henderson, hospital director said: “After recently celebrating our first birthday and I am delighted that the team have achieved this result. Everyone at the hospital is thrilled and I am pleased that the hard work and dedication of our staff, and the satisfaction of our patients is reflected in their report.

The CQC report also noted how staff in all departments treated patients with kindness and compassion, and how in outpatients and diagnostic imaging, patients could access care and treatment promptly at a time that suited them.

One Ashford Hospital, in Willsborough, adjacent to the William Harvey, can treat both private and NHS patients and has 3 theatres, 20 inpatient beds, 10-day surgery beds, an endoscopy suite, a physiotherapy gym and outpatient diagnostic facilities, which include; fast-track access to XRAY and MRI.

One Ashford Hospital is the first hospital in the One Healthcare group and since its launch in March 2016, has worked closely with the NHS to reduce waiting times, as well as with insured patients and those who choose to pay for their own care.
